March in Jeju Island is a season of magic. For us, the Chan couple from Malaysia, this was our first visit to Jeju, and it felt like stepping into a dream. From the moment we landed, the crisp, refreshing air and vibrant colors of the island greeted us. What amazed us most was the incredible mix of canola flowers and cherry blossoms blooming across the island, creating a breathtaking contrast of golden and pink hues.
Our first stop was Yongduam Rock (Dragon Head Rock), where Jeju’s unique volcanic terrain took center stage. The dark volcanic rocks, the endless blue ocean, and patches of blooming canola flowers created a scene we’ll never forget. But the real surprise awaited us at Yongyeon Valley, just a short distance away. As we wandered through the serene valley, we found cherry blossoms delicately lining the paths. The soft pink petals swayed gently in the breeze, creating the perfect romantic atmosphere. Naturally, we couldn’t resist taking photos under the cherry blossom trees!
The highlight of our trip, though, was our visit to the Jeju Hanbok Experience Center, also known as Miya’s Closet. This hanbok rental shop is perfectly located just 10 minutes by car from Jeju Airport, making it super convenient. With its proximity to Yongyeon Valley and the sea, it’s a fantastic spot to dress up in hanbok and capture Jeju’s iconic scenery in style.
When we arrived at Miya’s Closet, we were greeted by an impressive collection of hanbok. The shop offered everything from luxurious traditional designs to sleek, modern styles. After much deliberation, I chose a timeless traditional hanbok, while my partner opted for a sophisticated modern look. Both outfits were stunning, and we couldn’t stop admiring how they complemented each other!
Miya, the owner, added an extra layer of charm to the experience. A fashion major and designer of several hanbok in the shop, she personally helped us select outfits and even styled our hair. Her friendly and professional guidance made us feel like VIPs preparing for a special event.
Dressed in our hanbok, we returned to Yongyeon Valley, where the canola flowers and cherry blossoms created an extraordinary backdrop. Posing beneath the cherry blossom trees while wearing elegant hanbok felt like a scene straight out of a historical drama. The soft pink petals falling around us as the gentle spring breeze played with our outfits—it was nothing short of magical. Our photos turned out so well that even our friends back home couldn’t believe they were real!
Beyond the beauty of the scenery, Jeju Island’s charm lies in its ability to blend nature and culture seamlessly. Walking through such historic and picturesque places in traditional Korean clothing added a deep sense of connection to the island’s heritage. Miya’s Closet made the experience even more special with their personal and private service. Unlike other rental shops, this wasn’t just about affordability—it was about creating memories that felt cinematic and unique.
The rest of our Jeju journey was equally delightful. We explored more canola and cherry blossom-filled paths, enjoyed scenic drives, and indulged in local delicacies like Jeju black pork and fresh seafood. Yet, our hanbok experience at Miya’s Closet remains the highlight of our trip—a memory we’ll treasure forever.
If you’re planning a trip to Jeju, don’t miss the chance to combine the island’s stunning spring landscapes with the elegance of hanbok. Miya’s Closet is the perfect place to make your Jeju adventure truly unforgettable.
